Break and enter birthday

This is the saddest man in Cologne, Germany right now.
I got a disturbing and sad email from Boris Rogowski (of The Society Islands) earlier this week. Boris and I have back to back birthdays (his was Monday, mine Tuesday), and i dropped him a line wishing him well on Monday, and this is what he wrote back:

I have rather downbeat news for you: Two weeks ago, some people broke into my studio and stole all hard drives (which had – of course – the entire new album on them). I’ve been trying to get them back (via pleading, bribery, extortion, threatened and actual violence), but by now it seems the chances are rather slim. So… I’ll have to say goodbye to that album, I’m afraid.

That’s a freakin‘ bummer if you ask me! I loved The Society Islands’/Boris’ last album, and his work with Stationary Hund earlier this year, and was looking forward to hearing his new work. I think Boris needs some cheering up, so if you want to drop him a line you can do so here; please tell him I sent you. And tell him you like what you’ve heard here at QBiM:
