This is The Week That Was

photo via: Facebook
Peter Brewis and his brother David are/were Field Music, and together they made delicate, sweeping music laden with melodies and layers of instruments. Even still, they got bored of doing what they were doing, so they stopped making music, at least as Field Music, and turned to other outlets of creativity.
Peter’s new project is called The Week That Was, and while it’s not as pastoral as some Field Music moments, the arrangements are just as arresting. There’s a real juxtaposition to the emotional flavour of the music. Precious melodies are propelled along by nervous, almost frantic rhythms. I’m finding the album a real treat to listen to, as each time, something new is revealed. I’ve been looking for legal downloads to post, but I can’t seem to find anything that’s identified as clear, so if you’ll have to rely on the links below. As soon as I have anything available for download I’ll be sure to post.
