I’ve found a new way, baby.

That weegee crime scene inspired cover art EVERYONE is talking about.
Franz Ferdinand have revealed the artwork for their third album, Tonight: Franz Ferdinand to the NME, and so therefore to the entire world ( The physical product hits store shelves on January 28th, but if you head over to their official site now, you can take a spin on their random-track-playing turntable and hear “selections” of some of the tracks now, or in the case of first single, “Ulysses”, a voice mail-recorded version of the song. Clever.
The real deal is streaming on Myspace, and it’s a grower. Very much of the Franz Ferdinand template, but there’s some definite growth and development. The lads of brought the funk to the faculty house, it seems. If you’re looking for more info on the album, just throw a rock at your computer–you’re bound to hit a blog posting about them.

Matt Pond PA are getting into the generous spirit of the holidays by giving away an EP called The Freeep to any and all takers. It’s the nicest gift I’ve gotten so far this year.

Congratulations go out to Steve W. of Fergus, Ontario, whose going to take a ride on the Soft Airplane. Steve won last week’s Chad Van Gaalen CD giveaway. Thanks to all who entered.
I apologize for the brevity of this scant post; yesterday I had the honour of becoming my nephew Spencer’s Godfather, so teh blogging had to take a back seat. We’ll be back to our regularly scheduled merriment momentarily.
