The fact that it comes right before There Is A Light That Never Goes Out intensifies the contrast between the two. Good choice. I have such a hard time pinpointing my favourite Smiths song because they all were such fantastic numbers, but the one track that I like going back to over and over again has got to be "Paint A Vulgar Picture", which never shows up on these compilations, but to me, it's not only a quintessential Smiths track, but it's also the actual story of The Smiths set to music, written almost as prophecy before the band actually broke apart.
