Polite dance song

The Bird and the Bee are prepared to make 2009 swing a little with their psychedelic, bossanova rhythms and trippy beats.  Their new album, Ray Guns Are Not Just The Future takes their retro-jazz sound into some fresh areas, layering on the sheen of disco’s gold lamé.  Imagine a fresh-faced young woman standing on the sidewalk in the middle of a park, with a lollipop provocatively placed between her lips twirling in place while her skirt rides centrifugal waves ever higher: the soundtrack she’s dancing to would be “Love Letter To Japan”.

The album is out on January 27th, and there a couple of late night talk show appearances scheduled for Inara George & Greg Kurstin (the bird and, apparently, the bee), along with a bevy of tour dates to support.
