Intimacy + interactive
Feel like trying your hand at remixing? Bloc Party are returning to the remix album road in a few weeks with the release of Intimacy Remixed, a concept they first tried with their debut album Silent Alaram. In advance of the reix album’s release, you can download parts of three tracks–”Ares”, “Signs” and my favourite song on the album, “Ion Square”–by going here. If anyone comes up with a crackerjack remix, I’d love to hear it. I always suck when I try to do these remix things.

According to James “LCD Soundsystem” Murphy, he’s the Off-the-Wall-Montrealer; to the rest of us, he’s Tiga and he’s coming back with a new album of slick dance grooves. Caio! will be in stores on May 26, and there’s a little taste for all you hipsters to devour:

Regular readers of QBiM will know that I’m not one to comment on gossip and scandal, and I don’t usually use this blog as a forum to disseminate news items that get a lot of coverage in other venues. While there’s been a fair bit of coverage about Jian Ghomeshi’s interview with Billy Bob Thornton on CBC Radio floating around since it first went to air last week, I haven’t mentioned it here because, truthfully, I didn’t really pay any attention to it. I love Jian Gomeshi, and think he’s one of the most intelligent interviewers the CBC has, and that his program Q is a worthy successor to Shelagh Rogers’ Sounds Like Canada. So when it comes to this kerfuffle about Billy Bob, I think there’s very little commentary I can add to the discussion, because I think it’s pretty obvious what happened that day in Toronto, and it is what it is, and this is what it is:
