Sad songs to make you cry, smile, and boogie.

I love a good cover song, and this one definitely qualifies.  Headless Heroes is a project covering some obscure and not-so-obscure artists, and features Alela Diane doing a great version of Nick Cave’s “Nobody’s Baby Now”, one of my favourite Cave songs.  The Silence of Love project covers artists from Daniel Johnston to The Jesus & Mary Chain, with each song being about love and loss.  Our gain, if you ask me.

Our friends Fun have got more details to share about their upcoming debut.  Aim & Ignite will be out on August 25th with some very fun (obviously) cover art by Jacob Weinstein.  While we’re waiting for the album to drop, be sure to check out one of my recent favourite new tracks:

I haven’t had a chance to investigate Fitz & The Tantrums much, but based on the infectious, soul-flavoured “Breakin’ The Chains of Love” I think I’ve discovered the next link in the white-boy Soul music chain.  I’m lovin’ the squawky horns and organ.
