Amen. That’s all I can say…CVG’s record is one that I can appreciate intellectually (sort of), but it does absolutely nothing for me on any other level. (It kind of reminds me of The Acorn last year…)

Gotta agree with you on this one. I’m an American, so I don’t follow the Polaris Prize all that much. But over the past few years, I have been listening to a lot of great Canadian music. I didn’t realize how much their actually is. As far as the Polaris is concerned … that’s easy for me … Patrick Watson’s “Wooden Arms” is majestic. But the other album I seriously loved, was on the long-list … Timber Timbre. Gorgeous stuff.

you’ve pretty much summed up my thoughts and feelings on CVG. I am so glad I do not have to be in that little jury room this year and argue against this record.
