I’m still trying to get myself back into the swing of things after my whirlwind week back and forth to NYC, so forgive me if some of this is old news, but it’s all good stuff nonetheless.
Late Night Tales has been a great DJ compilation series from the folks at Uncut magazine, and the latest band to make an appearance in the booth is Snow Patrol. Along with tracks from A Tribe Called Quest, TV On the Radio and captain Beefheart, the band covers INXS’s “New Sensation” and really makes it their own.

Sticking with the UK music scene for a bit, Jagjaguwar has signed UK pscyh-rockers Wolf People. I tried to think if something witty to say about the number of bands who have “wolf” featured in their name, but I think that point has been made enough in other places, so I’ll leave it be. But you should definitely check out “October Fires”, the first taste of Tidings, which will see the light of day at the end of February:

Lucky Soul are back with a new single, and it’s more jangle-pop goodness. A new album is scheduled to be here soon.

We started with DJ news, so let’s end with some, too. Buffetlibre DJs have remixed and reworked Dragonette’s “Easy” from the new/forthcoming/whenever-it-gets-released-wherever-it-gets-released LP Fixin’ To Thrill.
