Remorsecapade
Woodhands

Woodhands

I guess someone wanted to make sure I knew that a new Woodhands album was in the works, seeing as how last week in less than 24 hours I got 5 emails from a number of different sources about Remorsecapade, to be released by Paper Bag Records on January 26, 2010.

“For me, Remorsecapade totally captures the ups and downs and insanity of interpersonal relationships,” says Dan Werb, one half of Woodhands. “All pop music is about love, but our pop music is about how fucking insane love can be.”  True enough.  Woodhands’ frenetic, sweaty electro boogies are full-on freak outs.  Live, Werb and Paul Banwatt perform without pre-programmed samples, no laptops, and no safety net: just two hyperkinetic, high-energy showmen bringing the party as hard as possible.  You get that when listening to “Pockets”, the first sample of the album.  Its abrupt ending leaves me wanting for more, certainly raising this release to one of January’s most anticipated ones.

They’ll be on a coast-to-coast tour of Canada in February, and will be debuting the lead off single, “CP24″ some time soon.
