Dear 2010…

You have a lot to live up to. 2009 was a pretty good year for me, so I’m totally expecting you to meet (at the very least) or (preferably) exceed what your predecessor brought my way.
Did you know QBiM had it’s 1000th post this year? It happened a few days back here, although I didn’t make a big fanfare about it.
Great new music is a given every year, so it was all the added bonuses that set 2009 apart. Did you know that I got to introduce the #1 song on this year’s Contrast Podcast Festive 50 countdown? That was pretty special.
This year I was asked to be part of the jury for the Polaris Music Prize, too. Don’t believe me? I have proof. Maybe next year I’ll be asked to be part of the Grand Jury that chooses the winning album on award night, but I won’t hold my breath.
I fully expect you’ll keep up 2009′s promise of providing me with great artists to interview in the QBiM Q&A feature I launched this year, too.
And just the other day, I was interviewed for the Hype Machine Music Blog Zeitgeist program coming up in a few week’s time. Don’t ask me to reveal any of the secrets, though, I’ve been sworn to secrecy. Even though the show will appear in 2010, you can’t lay claim to having had anything to do with it.
Speaking of .com radio, I was also asked to be the featured blogger on BreakThru Radio‘s Anatomy of a Blogger program. I should mention that this is a repeat performance for me, as I was the inaugural blogger featured back in 2008 when the show started.
Now, I don’t mean to seem like I care about all these material things, 2010. Really, I just want the coming year to bring joy and happiness to all my readers, a little less pain and sorrow to the world… and an iSlate (or whatever Steve Jobs is going to call the Apple tablet computer).
