NEW MUSiC: Broken Social Scene “World Sick”

In a last minute, split-second replacement decision, I’ve opted to push back today’s  4 for the weekend post (and I know how heartbroken you are about it) in favour for some bright shiny news out of Arts & Crafts HQ early this morning:  there’s a new Broken Social Scene song in town.  “World Sick” is–and I’ve only just listened to it a couple times right now–a pretty amazing return for BSS.  There’s been no downtime for Brendan Canning and Kevin Drew since 2005′s self-titled record (what twith their solo records) but just after a few bars of this song, you realize how long the wait has been for this new record.  Forgiveness Rock Record is out on May 4th, and is co-produced by the band and Tortoise’s John McEntire.  It truly sounds like McEntire has given the band a fresh perspective, and they sound inspired and recharged.  Happy Saturday, friends.  Mine just got infinitely better.
