NEW MUSiC: Arcade Fire “The Suburbs” & “Month of May”
By the time you read this, it won’t be new news, but it’s still worth talking about. Arcade Fire have set August 3 as the drop date for The Suburbs, and are currently taking pre-orders for the album (in all its various forms and guises) on their site. They’ve also given us a sneak peak at the (lovely) cover art, and a chance to spin a pair of tracks ourselves. “The Suburbs” and “Month of May” are available now as a 12″ single, but you can give them a listen by pressing the play button below, or using some elbow grease and spinning the disc yourself. I’ve not spent a lot of time with these new tracks, but my initial reaction is positive. “The Suburbs” is the sunnier sounding song of the two tracks, while “Month of May” is more of a straight ahead rocker, but both sound like they could be instant classics. You can get an instant download of the two tracks by pre-ordering your copy of The Suburbs now. Or search online for someone who’s posted them.
