Busking for change

(photo: Ben Welland)

I’m getting myself geared up for this year’s S.C.E.N.E. Music Festival (being held on Sunday June 27, St. Catharines ON, if I failed to mention that before ;-) by planning out my day so that I can see all the acts I can, when I came across news that Ottawa’s The Balconies are using their stop in St. Kitts as part of War Child Canada’s Busking for CHANGE initiative.  Since starting in 2008, Busking for CHANGE has raised over $100, 000 for children affected by war the world over.  Besides their St. Catharines, gig, The Balconies will also be collecting coin at shows in Barrie on July 3, Guelph July 7, Mississauga July 9, and Belleville on July 18.  If you can’t make it to any of these gigs but wish to donate, you can go to http://audioblood.com/warchild and make an online donation now.
