Gentlemen Husbands make the S.C.E.N.E.

One of the names that I heard over and over last week at NXNE was Cobourg, Ontario’s Gentlemen Husbands, whose barroom brawlin’ rock sound will be on stage at this weekend’s S.C.E.N.E. Music Festival in St. Catharines. They’ve made a name for themselves with a rambunctious live show, and tight, classic rock infused ditties like “Family Economics”. At first, they sounded a bit too classic rock for me but give the song a listen a few times and you’ll start to pick up on their hardcore roots. Much like Attack In Black, Gentlemen Husbands have been undergoing an evolution of sound without completely losing their roots. They’ve released a pair of EPs since making their recording debut in 2008, and are preparing a third, Mirror Doll Business, to be released this fall.
Gentlemen Husbands will be on the road in Ontario throughout July:
July 3 @ Happy Gilmores, Cobourg, ON
July 10 @ Rock The Coliseum, Mississauga, ON (w/ Sights & Sounds)
July 14 @ SummerFest Free Outdoor Stage, Belleville, ON (w/ The Balconies)
July 15 @ Farini’s, Port Hope, ON
July 19 @ El Mocambo, Toronto, ON (w/ The Bad Ideas)
July 30 @ The Townehouse, Sudbury, ON
Aug. 6 & 7 @ D’Arcy McGee’s, Ottawa, ON
Aug. 20 @ Sneaky Dees, Toronto, ON (w/ Teenage Kicks)
