Owen Pallett takes off on tour
He’s planning shows with his old friends in Arcade Fire and Spoon at NYC’s Madison Square Garden in August and is touring with The National and Dirty Projectors in September and October. Interestingly enough, September 20 is clear on his schedule, so I’m guessing that Owen Pallett will be making an appearance at the Polaris Music Prize Gala that night, performing songs from his nominated Heartland LP. I think of all the shortlisted records, Heartland is the one I’m most looking forward to revisiting for my weekly Short List posts; with each listen of “Lewis Takes Off His Shirt” I get an ever-increasing swelling sensation in my chest. Can the album as a whole sustain my enthusiasm from seven months ago? That all remains to be seen, but in the meantime, the Lewis Takes Off His Shirt EP, featuring remixes of Heartland‘s stand-out masterpiece from pals Dan Deacon, CFCF, Benoît Pioulard, Max Tundra and Simon Bookish is yours for the price of an email address on the Domino Records U.S. site. Hurry, though, it’s only free until the end of this week.
For a full list of Pallett’s tour dates, you can head over to this other music site that’s listed them all for us already.
