Ready to start the weekend?

Arcade Fire have announced that they’ll match any donations made to KANPE, a Haitian Aid organization, up to a million bucks.  To make your $5 donation just text STAND to 30333 (KANPE means “to stand” in Haitian Creole).  A million bucks!  I wonder if that’s any indication of how pre-sale of The Suburbs is going.  Their much anticipated new album drops on August 3 and can be pre-procured from the band’s online store now.

There’s a couple of albums recently released that are on my radar but I haven’t yet been able to devote enough time to, like Wintersleep‘s latest New Inheritors.  The Juno Award winners (for Best New Band) have just announced that they’re joining U.S. rockers The Hold Steady in the fall for a tour of the States.  Haven’t heard the new album yet either?  Sample a track from it here:

NYC’s Murder Mystery (previously featured on QBiM here) are back with a pair of new songs described as “a collaboration between Stereolab and Madonna” and “a Cure or Belle & Sebastian pop jam arranged with the warm, bouncy synths of Aphex Twin’s Ambient Works“.  Summery, sweet, and synthy.

Montreal’s Shapes And Sizes will be releasing a new album in a few week’s time.  Candle To Your Eyes is being released on Asthmatic Kitty August 3 and the band want you to let your parents know about it:

No Kids are also back with “a short and funky masterpiece” they’ve named Judy At the Grove.  Still undecided about this track, and certainly curious to hear more:
