NEW MUSiC: Falklands

In the few email exchanges I’ve had with Falklands‘ guitarist Mark Budd, I’ve come to know that besides being a tight, 70′s influenced guitar rock band with a lot of heart and soul, Falklands also have a sense of humour. that’s certain to help as they embark on an ambitious tour in support of their soon-to-be released debut full length, Think About It. Mark broke down the tour by numbers for me:
29: Length of tour in days
2.5: Number of days it takes to get “the funk” back in the van
4.5: Number of wobbly pops it will take to convince me to remove my clothes and jump in the Atlantic October 8 (Halifax). Apparently it only took 2 to get him in the Pacific.
24: Number of shows
12000+: Kilometers from start to finish
28: September date that marks Think About It‘s official release (available on falklands.bandcamp.com for PWYC or free, FYI)
Things kick off for Falklands tonight in Edmonton at New City Likwid Lounge, and then they’re off to Calgary tomorrow. A Full itinerary for the tour is available here. Think About It was recorded by Jesse Gander (Tranzmittors, Bison BC, Japandroids) in April of this year at The Hive Studios in Vancouver, BC. It will be released this coming Tuesday on Clamour Records in both vinyl and digital download format.
