Meet Generationals

New Orleans' based duo release crackerjack new song and EP

On the last RADiO QBiM podcast, I played a track by New Orleans’ Generationals, a band I discovered via Shuffler.fm (which you should check out).  That song, “When They Fight, They Fight” appeared on the band’s 2009 LP Con Law, an album of jangling, sun-kissed pop that swings and bops.  For their new EP, Trust, Generationals are moving towards more textured, adding drum machine beats and feedback loops to the mix.  It sounds pretty awesome to me so far, and I’m very much looking forward to news about album 2′s release soon.

So who are Generationals?  The band consists of duo Grant Widmer and Ted Joyner.  Both Con Law and their as-yet-unreleased second LP (titled Actor-Caster) was produced by Daniel Black.  You can get all their music from Park the Van Records.  You can check out episode 2 of RADiO QBiM, too!
