Welcome home, you noisy bastards.

NEW MUSiC: Milks & Rectangles Dirty Gold EP

I was almost positive I posted on Milks & Rectangles before, but I guess they’re victims of the too much music, too little time syndrome I’ve been facing as of late.  So what better time then the present?

Milks & Rectangles are Michael Carver, Justin Uyterlinde, Brandon Williams, and Christian Ledwell, and they have a new (free!) EP called Dirty Gold to go along with their last free EP, Troubleshooters (both of which are available on their Bandcamp page).  “Auction Block” the sweet little sample you’ll get here today, is a neat bit of fuzzy indie rock that features some skeletal guitars bouncing to and fro between the tight, syncopated rhythm section.  They remind me of Spoon, if Spoon were more fun. The rest of the EP rocks with elements of anthemic and angular pop; if I did a countdown of my favourite EPs of the year (and with the sheer volume of great EPs released this year I just might), this one would for sure be on my list.

Sorry there’s not much more to report on the band, but the fact that you can get yourself 10 cracking fantstaic songs from them right now on Bandcamp should more than make up for my lack of witty and verbose writing today.  Yeah, it’s been one of those weeks.
