Racing to shimmering lights
Meligrove Band play some seriously heavy pop. They are, as Graham Wright of Tokyo Police Club says, “… a straight up, shut the fuck up rock band in a time when most other bands act coy and try to be cool.” The band released Shimmering Lights in September of this year, their sophomore album after an extended hiatus that allowed the band to relax, take the pressure off of having to be on the rock ‘n roll treadmill and do things the way they wanted.
The result is a record that doesn’t cease to surprise. Rocking as they may be, Meligrove Band isn’t afraid of a melody and making the most of it is what they do best on tracks light “Halflight” and “Bones Attack!!”. You can find out for yourself by dropping an email to CONTESTS [at] QUICKBEFOREITMELTS [dot] COM with “I’m looking for Shimmering Lights” in the subject and your mailing address in the body. One lucky correspondent will take home the CD, sometime after the weekend. Enjoy!
