Dame City

Meet Montreal's The Lindbergh Line

(photo: Robin Hart Hiltz)

After hearing just a few bars of “Juggernaut”, even before I read the reference on the bio page for Montreal’s The Lindbergh Line, one of the first things that popped into my mind was Blondie.  There’s a brooding intensity to the track that very much reminds me of Deborah Harry and her boys in their heyday. Myriam Chebat (Les Handclaps), Karl LeBlanc (Anomie) and Denise Williams (Dance Movie) make dirty pop, which is the best kind of pop in my books.  There’s attitude without conceit on their EP, Bang Bang You’ll Be Missed, a succinct 4 song introduction to this powerful little three-piece.

The Lindbergh Line have a triple release show with Couples and recent QBiM postees Reversing Falls at Casa in Montreal on February 1, and will be gigging around Quebec and New Brunswick the rest of the month, before heading to Ontario for dates in March.  You can pick up your own copy of the EP via Bandcamp right now, in either digital or CD format.

Just stumbled across this blog and glad I did. Great review. I can definitely hear Blondie in there. Awesome song! Looking forward to hearing more from them.
