Short and sweet

Shotgun Jimmie teases us with a taste of Transistor Sister

I’m not sure where I would slot Shotgun Jimmie in among my record collection if I was sorting it by genre; sinister-sounding, funkified indie rock with horns doesn’t tell the whole story.  Sorting by expletives would be even harder.  File under awesome?  What about Wicked awesome?  Extremely wicked awesome works, too.

I’m just getting to know Transistor Sister, his new record coming out on the extremely wicked awesome label You’ve Changed on March 8, so I’m sure that once I’ve had some time, I’ll find a few more choice words to share with you about it.  For now, I’ll share “Late Last Year” will you, a prelude to this record that ‘s got me snapping my fingers, tapping my toes, and in an extremely wicked awesome mood this morning, which is better than the sinister-sounding funk I was in yesterday.
