Raise a Little Hell

City and Colour to release third LP next month

I don’t have anything pithy or witty to say about these new tunes from City and Colour, so I won’t bother trying to come up with anything.  Instead, I point you in the direction of the first samples from Little Hell, to be released June 7 on Dine Alone Records, and provide you with some of the details about the return of Dallas Green’s solo musical project.

Little Hell was recorded live to tape at Catherine North Studios in Hamilton, the studio owned and operated by Dan Achen, a good friend of Green’s (and co-producer of City and Colour’s Bring My Your Love) who passed away early last year.  Speaking of friends, Green is joined on this record by his good pal Daniel Romano as well as the City and Colour live rhythm section of Dylan Green and Scott Remila.

City and Colour fans won’t be disappointed by “Northern Wind”, a beautiful folk number, but they may be surprised by the funkiness of new track “Fragile Bird”.  I for one like it, and am really looking forward to hearing the rest of this record.
