Meeting metal

Ohbijou announce details of next LP

It’s been a spell since we’ve heard any news from the Ohbijou camp, but the band broke their silence yesterday by announcing news that Metal Meets, their third LP, is coming out September 27 via Last Gang Records.  The band has ventured out from their beloved Toronto home to find musical inspiration in the woods, across Asia, Europe and North America, and promise a record whose lyrics reflect on “familial bloodlines that move across borders” in much the same way Ohbijou themselves have.  Along with the tracklisting for Metal Meets, Ohbijou have also released a teaser video hinting at what we can expect when the record drops this fall.

Metal Meets:
1. Niagara
2. Balikbayan
3. Metal Meets
4. Iron and Ore
5. Sligo
6. Anser
7. Obsidian
8. Scalpel Blade
9. Turquoise Lake
10. The Dreaming

Still no new music, but in the meantime, we can revisit their superb 2009 LP Beacons. Yeah I know, I post this song a lot, but it’s one of my favourite songs of the last 10 years:
