Pushin’ up daisies

St. Catharines' My Son The Hurricane release new video

A while I back I posted a video by St. Catharines-based hip-hop/jazz band My Son The Hurricane (see it here), and have been meaning to check out their first album You Can’t Do This, released this past April on Copperspine Records.  It just so happens the band has recently released a new video for first single from that LP.  “Pushin’ Up Daisies” has a breezy, ultra-cool sound that’s just what the docotor ordered for an early summer weekend like this one.

The band have recently come off a tour with D-Sisive, and are getting set to play to hometown fans at this year’s S.C.E.N.E. Fest, Sunday, June 26 in St. Catharines.  Admittedly, My Son The Hurricane’s style isn’t really my thing, but every time I check out what these guys are doing, I’m impressed by the performance, and how fresh they sound.  They definitely have a good thing going, and I hope things keep going their way.
