Following the flames
I haven’t been keeping you up to date with Bruce Peninsula‘s Bruce Trail Fire Sale, so I thought today would be the perfect time to recap installments three through seven (you’ll recall that I posted on installments one and two here).
Part Three of the Bruce Trail Fire Sale was a beguiling cover of “Light Flight”, a song by British folk rock band Pentagle.

Parts four, five and seven are amazing covers filmed by Mitch Fillion and his crew at Southern Souls (have I told you how amazing this site is yet??), including versions of songs by Skydiggers, MGMT, and Frederick Squire. You can check out the whole set of videos by following this link.
The astute counters out there will have noted that we jumped over part six: an original tune sung by Matt Cully and Misha Bower called “The Leaves”.

Bruce Peninsula are in one of my favourite neck of the woods, Kearney, Ontario tonight for the River and Sky Festival, and play Toronto on August 11 as part of the SummerWorks festival with Jennifer Castle at The Lower Ossington Theater.
All audio recordings from the Bruce Trail Fire Sale are available as a PWYW download from Bruce Peninsula’s Bandcamp page right now. Their new album, Open Flames, is scheduled for a fall 2011 release.
