EXCLUSiVE: Elliott BROOD’s Paper Bag Sessions

QBiM and Paper Bag Records partner up

As I mentioned yesterday, Quick Before It Melts and Paper Bag Records are happy to announce they’re gettin’ hitched!  Well, maybe not hitched, but at the very least, we’re shackin’ up together to bring you some exclusive content from the label and its roster.  There will be a steady stream of content from the likes of Cuff The Duke, Austra, The Rural Alberta Advantage and Young Galaxy coming your way on QBiM that you won’t be able to get anywhere else.

Take for instance today’s lovely video from Elliott BROOD.  The ‘BROOD perform “My Mother’s Side” as part of their recent Paper Bag Session in support of their new album Days Into Years (reviewed on QBiM yesterday).  I’m loving the disc, and loving this series of stripped down live performances that Paper Bag has commissioned.

To celebrate this union, we’d like to unite five QBiM readers with their very own copy of Elliott BROOD’s new Northern Companion 7″, featuring the fantastic “Northern Air” and non-LP B-side “Banjo Song”.  To enter the contest, just leave us a comment below or email your contact information to CONTESTS [at] QUICKBEFOREITMELTS [dot] COM.   You can also go to the Quick Before It Melts Facebook page and Like and/or Comment on this post to enter as well (but be sure your Facebook privacy settings will allow me to message you to let you know you’ve won).  Contest closes Tuesday, October 4 at 11:59 pm.

Have been a huge Brood fan since the “Tin Type” EP and have been anxiously awaiting the new disc. Would love to add the 7″ to my collection. Thanks for all the writing!

I can’t really get enough of the BROOD. Lines and Hold You are my two favorite, but honestly I love the whole album. If I received a free record, id have to travel up north to get it signed. Sounds like an excellent roadtrip opportunity
