Sweater weather

NEW MUSiC: Octoberman Sweater EP

You can never go wrong with Octoberman.  Marc Morrissette’s one-time solo project has evolved over three full lengths into a consistently entertaining and talented full band.  Just yesterday, they released a new EP called Sweater as a sort of precursor to their forthcoming fourth LP (due in 2012).  I rarely use the word “jaunty” to describe the music reviewed on QBiM, but somehow that term fits tracks “Not That Kind” and “Soft and Lonely French Girl” perfectly.  The latter song has a sweet horn solo midway that brings a smile to your face and puts a spring in your step.

Octoberman play CMJ in NYC tomorrow night before heading home for a gig at Hamilton’s Casbah Lounge on Saturday night (set time is 10 pm).  Sweater is available now through all your favourite digital outlets, my two faviourites being Zunior and Bandcamp.
