You can (still) dance

(JJ Levine)
When I first heard his music a few years back, Rae Spoon was making brilliant acoustic coloured, country flavoured folk tunes that landed his Superioryouareinferior LP on the QBiM favourite albums of 2008 chart. That record had hints about Spoon’s dalliance with electronic music, but nothing as overt as his disco-delving next record, Love Is A Hunter, released last year. From all reports, Rae Spoon’s transformation into a full-fledged electro-pop performer will be complete when he releases I Can’t Keep All Of Our Secrets in just over a month’s time (January 10, 2012, to be exact, on Saved By Radio).
“Crash Landing”, the LP’s first single, got its debut over at exclaim.ca last week, when Spoon sat down with Alex “Chipped Hip” Hudson to dish about the new platter and share dates for his upcoming North American tour in support of the record.
