Catch my breath

It feels like mere days ago that I was telling you about Breeze, the latest project from Elk‘s Josh Korody, only to find out that Breeze isn’t his latest project: Beliefs is.
Back in November 2010, Josh Korody and Jesse Crowe met at a birthday party and discovered their mutual love of The Jesus and Marychain, Slowdive, and My Bloody Valentine. Together they started collaborating together building a small arsenal of shoegazey songs, sound collages, and like-minded musicians to help them out now and then. Fast forward a year, and Beliefs found themselves with a full length on their hands, and have spent the last year playing opening slots for the likes of A Place To Bury Strangers, Porcelain Raft, Disappears, and Lotus Plaza.
They’re already deep into creating their second album without having officially launched their first yet, but patience will reap big rewards, music fans. Starting right now, Beliefs’ two-song “Untitled” single (digital and cassette tape format) is available from Toronto’s Hand Drawn Dracula, ahead of the self-titled debut’s release in the new year. “Violets” one of the “Untitled” singles’ tracks.
