Split seven
On the surface Hamilton’s The Dirty Nil and Welland’s Northern Primitive don’t seem to share a lot in common musically, other than an affinity for turning the volume to 11. That said, pairing together the woozy, psychedelic-inflected drone rock of Northern Primitive with the boozy, scuffed up garage rock of The Dirty Nil makes perfect sense when you hear them back-to-back on their so-fresh-you-smell-new-vinyl split 7″ single courtesy of IndoorShoes Records. Add to that the beautifully shot split feature video that Southern Souls did for the two bands, and you have a match made in guitar rock heaven (embedded above).
The “Zombie Eyed”/”Positive Bondar” single from The Dirty Nil and Northern Primitive respectively is available as a free download or as a limited edition vinyl 7″ single from Bandcamp now. Your weekend isn’t going to be complete without it.
