Peter Sagar moved from Edmonton to Montreal “for a cheap place to play music with some friends”, one of which is Mac DeMarco (whose band Sagar is currently playing guitar in). Starting fresh in a new city and new digs, Sagar left behind his work with previous bands Sans Aids and Outdoor Miners, and started working on own brand of 60s and 70s style Memphis soul under the namd Homeshake. The result, The Homeshake Tape is a collection of nine tracks that Fixture Records released in a limited run of 200 turquoise cassette tapes at the end of January. The label is also hosting an official launch gig ay Montreal’s Brassiere Beaubien on February 22, 2013, featuring Homeshake, Walter TV, and Brave Radar. Interested in buying the tape but can’t make the gig? Try here.
